Daddy/Daughter Pizza Night.

Last night Makenzie and Chuckie went to the daddy/daughter. Since I'm one of the leaders I got to be there too. We did homemade pizzas at the jensens and played a game. It was a simple night but great. Dads don't seem to need too much fluff anyway! And really you can't go wrong making pizzas in the brick oven. The dads and the girls had to wear an apron. They were all pretty cute.

Halloween '09.

It's was a busy three days of celebrating halloween. Thursday we had school parties, Friday was trunk or treat and then actual trick or treating on Saturday. This years costumes...

Alexa, the hippie...
Aaron, the nerd...Makenzie, the geek (not to be confused with a nerd)...Makenzie wanted to be a nerd first but once Aaron got his head gear he has to wear while he's sleeping from the ortho last week, we knew he was born to be a nerd. Makenzie refused to match him so we convinced her that she was a geek and that there is a big difference between a nerd and a geek. A couple of trips to di and we were set with nerd and geek gear. Let me tell you, when Aaron got dressed that night before he could dress up for school, we were rolling! He had the voice down, the walk down, the look down, he was a nerd. He offered random facts to people and never got out of character while he was dressed. People were actually asking to take pictures with him.

Some pictures from school...
Some of the kids before trick or treating...
Makenzie spent Saturday with her friend so she didn't trick or treat with us but she did join us after trick or treating for dinner at olive garden. Aaron stayed in character with everyone there. It was hilarious. Luckily, our waiter thought so too! Makenzie laughed and giggled at Aaron all through dinner. I'm glad we ended the night all together.

I'll close with a few more pictures of our nerd. Cause we just couldn't get enough of him...

A Tiny Update.

It's been pretty busy around here lately. So blogging had to take a back seat. The busyness hasn't been very blog worthy either. Also, not a whole lot worth snapping a picture of. But here a few things we've been up to...

A couple of weeks ago we spent a couple of nights at the hospital waiting for Aly to have her first little baby. The first night, we thought she was being induced and then we found out they weren't doing it until in the morning. We did get to have some fun hanging out though at the hospital. Some of the fun at Aly's expense, but still it was fun! The second night at the hospital (the next night) still no baby. Finally after a full day of trying, she had a c section. Little Ezekiel was finally here! Here he is just a few minutes old...
Last week was pretty much consumed by the fall festival at school. It turned out to be a great event and I am glad it is over. I had someone taking pictures and this is the only one with one of my kids in it...Last night we had to take Chuckie's phone to the apple store so we decided to go to the one at the forum shops. We hadn't been there in a while and thought it might be fun for family night. I took the girls in fao schwartz while the boys went to the apple store. Totally disappointed in the place. It's been a while since I was there but it's so different now. The girls did have fun looking around but it's nothing like it use to be. We joined the boys in the apple store then watched the fountain show. Of course we couldn't go home without a stop at luv it for some custard. A few pictures from the night...
That pretty much sums up the exciting things from the past couple of weeks. I know we were much busier then this shows but my mind is blank. So this will have to do for an update!

Two Funny Girls.

A couple of funny stories from two cute girls.

Tyler tells me this...my mom was out running this morning an got hit by a fire truck. Real story...Jenna backed her car into a fire hydrant. Seriously! I was cracking up after I heard the real story.

Alexa's class had a fireman (which happens to be Kelly Brink!) come to their class and teach them about fire safety. He asked the class who they should call when there is an emergency. Alexa answered (sang)...Glen Lerner is the way to go call 877-1500. Really. Obviously she's watching too much tv and thinks a lawyer is who you call first! We're gonna need a 911 reminder lesson.
What will Jenna and I do with these two when they're teenagers!! Help us!

Homecoming Parade And 500.

The high school homecoming parade around the park was Friday. This year Makenzie got to ride on one of the floats with the cheerleaders since she is a cheer buddy....

Aaron got to hang out with Ky and watch the parade. We seriously all fight over that little man! He's so yummy!! Alexa hung out with the usual group of little girls and watched...

I can't believe it but this is my 500th post! I am so glad that I have stayed committed to this blog and now have a great journal going. It's fun to occasionally go back and read some things I had forgotten. I hope that one day my future generations can look back and laugh at us and enjoy all that we've done. I thought about doing a fun contest but really just haven't had time to think too much about it. So instead I will just share how thankful I am for my family and for my Savior. I don't express that often enough. I have been given so many blessings in my life and many I take for granted but I know that they all are a gift from a loving Heavenly Father and I am so glad that He continues to bless me even when I don't feel I deserve it. I know that He knows me better than I know myself and He knows my needs better than I know them and I try hard everyday to have faith in that.

Marathon Trip.

Yesterday, we headed out bright and early to St. George. We had a couple of reasons for going but the most important reason was to watch the St. George Marathon. A few people from the ward were running it and we wanted to show our support. It was so amazing to see their excitement and tears when it was over. I even got a little emotional myself. I was so proud of them! A few pictures after the race...

After the race we headed out with the Rueschs to lunch and shopping. First we went to the fruit stand in santa clara and stocked up. Then Teresa introduced me to a home store called krumpett's. They had a killer sale on halloween stuff so I grabbed a few things. We put them out today with a couple of other things. I got the trick or treat blocks, metal pumpkins and the spider from there (the pumpkins are from the fruit stand)...
After krumpett's we headed to tai pan for more shopping. We got some cute new dishes and glasses there. After shopping we headed back over to visit with our friends before we headed back to Vegas. Even though it was a quick day trip, it was awesome. It was so fun to see all of the runners accomplishment a huge goal. It was just Chuckie, Aaron and I and the girls stayed back in Vegas so that made the trip just a bit nicer too.

The Polka Dot Party.

the birthday girl:
the decorations:
They were the easiest decorations I think I have ever done and it totally worked.

the food:
The food was all round...cheeseballs, oreos, funyuns, grapes, cherries.

the games:
We played twister, polka dotted bingo and polka dot scavenger hunt. They seemed to enjoy the scavenger hunt the most. Although they didn't want to stop playing bingo.

the presents:
She got lots of great presents. Including a new ipod. That's the excitement in the last picture.

the (cup)cake:
I hadn't really decided how to do polka dot cupcakes and at the last minute I stole Jen's idea. Although mine aren't as cute but they were literally done last minute and the girls all seemed to love them.

the twins:
Another successful party. Alexa had a great day and I guess that's all that matters. Thanks to everyone who made the day so fun!!

Girl Soccer Rules.

Both girls started soccer a couple of Saturdays ago. This is Alexa's second season and Makenzie is playing again for the first time after like 3 years. They have both been very excited so far. Apparently Alexa lost some of her excitement during the second half of the first game. When Jenna tried to put her back in the game, she told Jenna she was done. Ha. Jenna sent me a text telling me and I replied to smack her! I'm not sure if she did but she ended up going back in the game. Crazy girl. It should be a fun season.

Minor Update.

One day. One day blogger will get it together so I can post pictures again. I paid my bill. Really I did. Until then I will just wait (semi) patiently. In the meantime, thanks for all of the fun birthday wishes yesterday. The emails, phone calls, visits, texts....very nice on a day that was spent taking care of my husband. Thank you tons! As for a surgery update, he's much better then he was over the weekend. I've got a few pictures I will share if I ever can. They're definitely not as fun as the last surgery pics and no fun stories this time.

Hoping blogger let's me blog again soon.

3 Weeks Down, 33 To Go.

School so far:

Aaron: loves school. likes being in student council. a tiny bit wishes he had tried out for show choir. hasn't had to do too much homework. had stayed after school to help his teacher. thinks some of his teachers are weird and some are funny but no real complaints. makes sure his outfits look good everyday. makes his own lunch.

Makenzie: loves her teacher. loves her friends. has started reading more and seems to enjoy it more. wanted to join the ocean club but it conflicts with activity days so she will pick something else. gets her homework done without complaining. likes being in the portables. bought a recorder for music. has taken her lunch everyday but one.

Alexa: hates school. hates homework. loves her teacher. loves her friends. loves lunch & recess.

We've obviously got a little work to do with the last one. We went through the same thing last year. Hope this isn't a pattern forming.

Labor Day Trip.

This year for labor we knew we wanted to get out of town but we weren't sure to where. Chuckie's boss called us Friday night and said they were heading to Cedar and asked if we wanted to join them. The kids were at the football game and Chuckie wasn't feeling well so we passed. We thought we'd just head up on Saturday instead. Alexa had a birthday party to go to on Sat morning and she threw a fit at the thought of missing it. Then Aaron and some of his friends decided to do a movie night at our house that night. We caved and gave up on Utah. Sunday morning though we got up early and decided to head out. We were in Cedar City by lunch time. We meet up with his boss and his family and spent the rest of that day and labor day with them. We had no real plans and kind of just winged it. On Monday, after lunch, we headed down to St. George and spent the rest of the day there. We made a stop by tai pan, went to a fresh fruit stand and played at the miniature golf place. We finished the trip with dinner at cracker barrel. We had a nice little getaway. Thanks toblers for the invite. I forgot my camera but I took a few pictures with my phone...
